Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder (I hope)

I so apologize for being absent but it was a must, not a want to.

This entire month has seen me in pain... a tooth abcess, a root canal. Yes, I've had root canals before but nothing like this one. I don't recall having an abcess involved in the other root canals so maybe that was what made the difference. it was not fun!

I have sat in my recliner for days upon days holding my jaw, popping tylenol and mindlessly binge-watching 'Farmer Wants a Wife.'  That's a new find for me in my new streaming world. I have to say I am enjoying it. Having lived a life with a Navy man and then having him upon retirement from the Navy to deposit me on a farm. Boy, can I relate!!

With the short time between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year and with the tooth thing going on, I am so not into Christmas. Oh, I did do my functionary gift purchasing (money for the grands, mostly) but I didn't send out one card. I did not bake one cookie. I am probably not going down to our Christmas party here at the Commons tomorrow. I just don't want to. I just want December to be over!!

I hope all of you are in a better frame of mind than I am. Please have a wonderful Christmas. It's such an important time of year for many reasons.

  1. Well, I just wish I could scoop you up and bring you to my house. I feel a very similar way. I'm more looking forward to Christmas Eve than Christmas, for so many reasons. Sometimes the holidays feel like too much.

  3. Toothache is worst ! I. So sorry to hear your in such pain. I’ve experienced an abscess & had a root canal, so I can sympathise. I’m sorry your missing out on the Christmas fun in your building but I understand how bring with other people can be hard work, when you’re in pain.
Will you go back to your dentist soon, if the pain persists just incase you need some antibiotics ? Just to check the infection has cleared. This happened to me once. I’m glad to see you post though I was getting worried xx

  4. I pray your pain stops! Enough already. I can totally understand how that can ruin a holiday. At least you could enjoy watching something new on TV. I hope that even through your pain, you can still embrace the beauty of Christmas.

  6. Oh my, I'm sorry that you were in so much pain from your tooth. I hope it's been resolved now. I haven't done as much prep for Christmas as I usually do either and I am hoping to get my Christmas cards sent out tomorrow but who knows. I have a driveway that needs snow shoveling right now. Sigh! Take care Latane and don't push yourself to do what you don't feel like doing until you are better.

  8. Hope you feel better soon! I'll have to check out that TV show - it sounds interesting! Maybe someone can bring you some food from the party if you miss it. Prayers for your healing and being able to enjoy a little holiday cheer soon.

  9. There's never a good time to be in pain but Christmas time really is NOT.
I hope the pain subsides and you feel less awful. I hope someone brings you some party food tomorrow or maybe you'll even feel like going down and joining in even if for a short while. GM

  10. Oh my goodness. I too had a root canal last year and it was the worst ever. Not sure why, but like you there was an infection. I hope you are feeling better soon. I too am not in the mood for Christmas this year. Lots of reasons, and mainly a health issue that caught me off radar, and a room repair/renovation off of our living room (which is delaying a Christmas tree going up at all). I will have to look that show up.

  11. So sorry for your pain and suffering. I suppose something causes us all to have those experiences somewhere along life's journey. It's not easy, especially when it's your turn!
Praying you have a good Christmas and hoping the new year will be pain free and bring a new, renewed outlook on life.

  12. I can see why you are ready for December to be over. I am sorry to hear about your ongoing dental problem and pain. It sounds miserable. I hope you will soon feel better and this will be a mere (bad) memory. In the meantime those bingeworthy shows can be just what's needed to help take our minds off of reality for a while.
