A Blessed Moment With Nature.

It was cloudy this morning when I got up. I pulled some clothes on and went out on my balcony to enjoy a bit of fresh (cooler) air. Man, it's been hot here.

I saw a bird swimming on the pond. Then I saw another. A pair of Double-crested Cormorants and one of them had a fish in it's beak. I don't know how long I watched that bird swim around with that fish dangling. Does anyone know why a bird wouldn't just gobble down their breakfast? It just seemed strange to me.

And, then the sun came out. In swooped the heron!
On my end of the pond putting him much closer for some good shots.

I just feel really blessed to have spent a few minutes with nature this morning.
Now I am ready to start my day!

  3. You got great shots! And that IS so weird, I don't know why they don't eat the fish right away. Makes me think of how cas like to play with their prey.

  4. Good question! Maybe they want to parade their catch around for the world to see?
