Deck The Halls

I just got back to my apartment after helping decorate the community room. It was harder than I thought! Maybe next year I'll let some of the younger ones do the decorating. But, it's so important to participate as long as you can. That 'can' is getting more like maybe, not so much, well, I am old so I won't sort of thing.

There were five of us. Not too many, but we maybe could have used a little more help. I had double duty - hanging ornaments and taking pictures. We sang carols as we worked. It was just a fun time.

Here are some of the pictures I took.

Sarah, Evelyn and Michelle trying to get the tree topper to stop leaning!

The topper is on, finally, so we started hanging ornaments.

Sarah, our Life Enrichment Director. She's a sweetheart!

Junie, our maintenence guy, hanging the outside wreath

Our stockings all hung by the chimney with care
and
a gingerbread house (my contribution, my daughter
makes them in her bakery)

  3. How nice of you to help in the decking of the halls. I am sure your neighbors will all enjoy the fruits of your labor. I really like the color scheme in the ornaments and your daughter's gingerbread house is charming.

  4. I love the pictures! It is a lot of work, though, to decorate. Lots of bending and stretching. Your daughter's gingerbread house is adorable. So glad you had this time together. Have a blessed weekend.

  7. That gingerbread house is so pretty!
Your book arrived today and it is beautiful! I haven't started reading it yet but I do like the way it looks. My daughter, Amber, is a writer and when she was a little girl - even before she could read - she remembers how she loved books - seeing the words all in paragraphs.
I agree with you that we need to keep doing what we do as long as we can....

  12. Everything looks so nice. It looks as thought you all were having a grand time decorating. I love your gingerbread house. I don't think I've ever made one. Hmmm, I'll have to do something about that. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

  13. It looks like good teamwork, even while shorthanded. "Teamwork makes the dream work!", they say. It sure does help to be part of a team!
I love that Gingerbread House. My youngest child is 47, so it's been about 40 years since we've made one!
