Winter Shopping

Winter is here at last!

Not that I want it to be winter but as the seasons go, so must we.

We are to have our first freeze tonight. I started to bring in a couple of coleus plants but said, I don't want to deal with those things all winter, dropping leaves all over my carpet and they already look like they are on their last leg!! So, tonight... goodbye coleus!

I went clothes shopping day before yesterday. And, I bought this CUTE winter white short coat/jacket. Made me feel so sassy!

I don't ever want to give up my sass! So, I also bought this outfit, too.

and this sweater coat....
for just tossing on to run downstairs to get my mail or run to the store.

Just about everything I had was black or dark blue. It was so darn dull. I am tired of melting into the background! Time for me to shine!

Have you bought anything new lately? It will pick up your spirits and change your look and your attitude. So, go shopping.

  1. I am glad you are keeping your sass, me too. My favorite of your new outfits is the red top and sassy slacks. I recently bought a London Fog rain coat for fall and winter, it is a pretty shade I think they call Lake Blue.

  2. I'm afraid that I'm not into clothes. My mom sure was... she always looked very chic...even into her'90's. But it's not me. I'm happy with jeans and a denim shirt. But I do try to dress it up at times - (if we're going somewhere nice). But all your new outfits look great!

  3. I need to go shopping! I need shoes and pants. Probably will buy both in black, but I have colorful tops. I am wearing a soft blue Blessed Girl shirt today (with black pants).
    Have a great weekend!

  4. I was like you; all my clothes darker, duller colors which is weird because i love color! I got tops, leggings, shoe-boots, from Walmart, Ross, TJ Maxx, Beals Outlet, and Torrid - that is what I have been doing last 4 weeks. I also am inheriting a huge amt of clothing next week from my Mom, who passed yesterday. She was 84 and dressed like she was 44, lol. She and I both love bright colors and my last visit with her Oct 22-29 in Savannah, she directed me from her hospice hospital bed and made me go through all her clothes so she could see me in them. It was a precious time. Well, I went on a tangent but what I wanted to know is, where did you get the print leggings and that gorgeous top???

    1. Dawn, I couldn't find a way to access you so I hope you see this. I bought these at a privately owned shop not a chain. But, the maker of the top is Ciara Sun Woo and the pants are by Slim-sation. thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment. I am so sorry about your Mom. Hugs.

  5. Shine on sassy lady :). I think you found some really pretty new clothes. I love winter white and your new jacket looks great on you. I have a similar sweater coat. My sister-in-law talked me into it and I am finding it to be a great piece to throw on when the weather is chilly.

  6. Glad you treated yourself - you're worth it!
Love the jacket, the red top, and the sweater coat you will find handy. I'm wearing one today as I'm heading out early to get a pedi and it's only 28F here this morning - lovely sunshine though!

    Enjoy your weekend Latane.

  9. I like your new outfits. I love RED. Never stop being sassy.
I live in Northern Virginia (in Loudoun County, 13 minutes from Leesburg, and 25 minutes from the bridge to MD)
I just found your blog.... clicking around. I have to do that while I treadmill, ... if I am not doing something else.
I am 65. I aspire to live long and healthy
I am so happy to find you. I have to find your story.
I live "in the big house" still with hubbs, I have two grown young married daughters, each has two little girlies, and my younger daughter is expecting her third baby in Feb 2020, a boy.
My mom and dad. They lived in Annapolis, Maryland for 25 years after living abroad in Europe (dad was an auditor for NATO, totally cushy job)
I moved mom and dad here to Virginia in 2013 bc mom had a stroke. She spent 3 worthless months in a rehab in Maryland, gosh that was just a waste. Once I got mom and dad (both age 89 then) and settled them here in a cute first level apartment 1/2 mile from my house (daddy did not want to live WITH us bc we might all go nuts, that is what he said) We got Capitol home Healthcare and rehab was swift and very successful. Then eventually, they moved into an erickson community called Ashby Ponds. We enjoyed 4 fun years with mom. Then she got sick, and we had to let her go. Horrrrrrible. Now I go to daddy every day and spend a couple of hours with him. He is 96 and we have a good time, he loves to walk along the Potomac River (Algonquian Park), loiter around the local mall, we stare at people, or look at all the stuff in the stores and not buy anything. or we walk around his neighborhood.
Keep having fun. Go get yourself a sewing machine.
That is my one pleasure these days, just sewing stuff, mainly little quilts for my grand girls, and also other cluttery things haha

  10. Good advice, Latane. I don't dress up often these days, but always will buy something new and colorful when an occasion calls for a shopping expedition even if I dislike shopping. Enjoyed seeing your new clothes especially the colorful outfit.
