Staying Inside The Lines

Let's see, what's on my agenda today?

We are going on  the van to George's Steak House for lunch. Oh yummy!

I am so thankful that we residents can get together and do fun things. I am driving less and less. It had already started, this being nervous in lots of traffic. I am not going to say that old age has a thing to do with it (he he) but it does. I drove clear across country one time (in my young days) with a car full of kids. I've always been a good driver and never minded it.

NOT!

                                             I had a wreck a year ago. It wasn't a bad one.

But, I am just not as willing to put myself out there to be somebody's target anymore.                                                                     Oh, I do drive.. if I have to.

So, I am doubly thankful today for the van

and for my grandson who will be my chauffeur anytime I want.

And, my daughter and her hubby who take me places.

Joining Thankful Thursday

Oh, and while I am thinking about it. Christmas isn't far away. Done your shopping yet.
If not let me make a suggestion
Order this book for the females on your list. (It's not a guy's book)
It's on Amazon.

Now I was a sly old dog, wasn't I? Yep, I wrote it
Just doing a little advertising. 😀😀

  1. Wow, congratulations to you! I always wanted to write a book but just never was able to accomplish it. I'll have a lookee at your book. And yes, I have just about all of my Christmas shopping finished and three quarters of it wrapped. This is the first time in years that I have been early. I don't drive as much any more either. And yes, I blame it on old age. But at least I still do drive some. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

  2. I gather you are in a retirement community now and it sounds wonderful! I still drive as much as I ever did but night time driving is truly challenging. I wear those yellow night driving glasses and could NOT drive safely without them. Plus I wear corrective lenses now. Still, I would rather be the passenger than the driver!
I’m ordering your book today! You have written several, I believe. My goal is to finish my book in 2020. I want to get it published while all of Mother’s children are still alive and well.......

  5. My driving has been cut down tremendously per my children. I drive to church, to the bank, drug store and Dollar General and that's it. They are all on the street I live on so not hard. lol

  6. I am sure it is not age that makes us older folks nervous about driving. It is all the idiots out there! The most dangerous drivers here are the ones driving at dusk or just before dawn without their lights on. And when it rains, they drive faster! They must have left their brains at home!
Hope you are having a wonderful week!

  7. It sounds like you have some great family members. I don't always like to drive! I have to get to work and around, but people don't pay attention anymore. Too distracted by phones, etc... Thanks for linking up, Latane. Take care!

  9. You are a published writer!? I KNEW I liked you! Wow, I will check it out!!!! And for the driving, there is also more traffic now than ever. My son lives in Virginia, near Fairfax, and it's a continuous zoo driving down there. People cut you off and text while driving, it's crazy. Here in central NY state, driving is a breeze, no traffic, but: snow. Anyway, glad you get fun outings, a steak house lunch sounds yummy.

  10. Latane, I understand completely about the driving. I've been driving since I was 16... and no problems. Last year (at 73) I was in an accident where my car was totaled, but no one was hurt (bruises and cuts from airbags and seatbelts only). But... now I'm a nervous driver. Do still drive, but not with the confidence I had before.
As for your book, I do intend to get it. I've checked it out on Amazon and hopefully will order it as soon as I finish the 3 I'm reading now. BTW, my book "Time after Time" by D'Arcy Regan Hart (pen name) is also on Amazon in both paperback and 'as of today'(or possibly within 24 hours) on Kindle!

  13. Like you, Latane, I agree that other drivers seem unable to stay in the lines and even the lanes.

  14. New fan here! I got here from "Linda's Life Journal", and I've really enjoyed reading your posts, and am amazed at the things you do and enjoy doing - at any age! I'm 70 and feel very old. You have such a "young at heart spirit", and good for you! You live and look so much younger than your age and I hope you'll write your memoirs while you can -- I know I'd read it! I'll bet many others would, too.
