Pandemic Aloneness

I grew up basically an only child in a household of adults (my grandparents, an aunt and my mom).

So, being alone is something I have always enjoyed.

Of course after I married my household became cluttered with hubby, children and various pets.

Now, I am alone. And, I am thankful for the ability to be at peace and find happiness by being by myself.

It's really coming in handy during this pandemic.

I am linking with Thankful Thursday

  1. Like you, I have been thankful that I live alone during this pandemic response. I don't have to be mindful of other's requirements for space, emotional support, preventative measures. I'm not bored; that word hasn't been in my vocabulary for years. Self-motivation is required to keep the to-do list in check. I do miss all the entertainment that has been curtailed - concerts, dinner theater, dinner parties, game nights, sporting events, etc. But I'll keep on keeping on and make do.

  2. Hello,

Love the family photos. I can be happy alone or with people, we have so much to be thankful for. Wishing you a happy day and a great weekend ahead.

  3. I know what you mean...I had a busy family when my kids were all little but it's pretty quiet now all of the time. How TALL was your grandfather? He looks really tall! Take care. Lots of hugs, Diane

    1. I am not sure but well over 6 ft. It's just that my grandmother was so short..around 5 ft. Makes him look tall!

  4. I also enjoy time alone, but I know a lot of people do not. A good skill, I think. Thanks for linking up and stay well.

  5. My house was always noisy when I was raising my children. Now it is very quiet. But I can go outside and listen to the birds if I need noise. You have a lovely day, hugs, Edna B.

  6. I too was noticing how tall your grandfather was. A short grandmother kind of explains that. Me too on being alone. I was before this happened so it is easier on me I think than those for which this is a new experience. I do miss my friends and dinners out but am getting by with phone calls and emails.

  7. Since retiring in 2010 (widowed in 1991) I have gradually evolved into the introvert I was always meant to be. ,Although never a social butterfly in the past I willing participated in family, work and/or church activities because that was what was expected of a wife, mother, employee. Now for me being alone is nothing new, it's the way I choose to live and like you I think it has made it easier to adapt/accept life as it is in these trying times.

  9. I love the photos you have shared. I am a good bit younger than my siblings so I spent a lot of time entertaining myself when I was young. Mostly I am tired of cooking/eating all my meals at home!!! Have a blessed day. Mildred

  10. It's much the same here, Latane, in that we don't mind being along, together, as we each have our own interests. My husband grew up as an only child so he is quite used to his own company. I have a younger sibling (brother) but we were never close and oddly have become more now as we've aged and living in separate states.

  11. I visited my doctor for a second opinion to verify that I am currently experiencing genital warts on both sides of my inner labia caused by HSV which I was not aware I had until the genital warts appeared. I discovered them about 2 months ago and it saddened me to find the warts because I felt it meant I had contracted an STD,I never applied medical drugs or therapies, because I prefer going natural routes first if any are available. At first, I was not sure I’d be able to use anything since the labia is such a sensitive area but I remembered that I had been reviewing series of testimonies on how herbal doctor razor had been curing people of Genital warts, And I had Them on the bottoms of my feet so I decided to try doctor razor herbs. Thankfully, Doctor razor herbal medication seems to be getting rid of the genital warts. When I first began applying it I noticed some slight aching feelings in my vaginal area that I had never felt before. I no longer feel the aches though. I AM SO GRATEFUL TO BE COMPLETELY CURED OF THIS VIRUS.However, I don’t feel the shame anymore and am so grateful to Mother Nature and Doctor Razor for helping a sister out.
