Muskrat, wha makes your head so slick?

                                         Yesterday was an exciting day.

It doesn't take much these days to scrounge up some excitement, does it?

Once again my dau Shirley and her hubby John came down for our weekly 'social-distancing' picnic. It was Whoppers this time. Our seating arrangement is unique but necessary. Shirley's on one end of the picnic table, me on the other and John's on the tailgate of the truck.

Anyway, it wasn't long until the geese started up the hill and wandered around until they finally were right at the table. They never begged, was busy eating grass but it was fun having them so close.

Then Shirley sees a V-wave going across the pond - fast, too fast for a duck (and there was no head sticking up) or a turtle, not curvy enough for a snake. What could it be? She got off some shots hoping to be able to identify it once she could get to her computer. We found out it was a muskrat!

A BIG one. He swam all  the way across the pond and in a little bit, here he comes back again. And, landed right near the geese nest.

Muskrat, Muskrat, wha makes your head so slick?
I've been a-livin' in the water so long, it's a
                                                      Wonder I ain't sick,

As we were about to say goodbye I saw movement on the far bank. It was a fox. At that distance it was impossible to get a good shot of him, besides he was moving on!

Our lunch turned into a wild life adventure.

  1. What a fun lunch to share with your daughter and son-in-law. Wildlife galore. Are you sure those geese weren't hanging around, hoping for a taste of those whoppers? ha!

  3. How neat to have all those critters at your picnic! Even nicer to be able to see your daughter and son-in-law. We’re a little tired of each other — it would be fun to have some company for a change. Even if we had to stay six feet away!

  7. This is so cute and sweet. This is what we are doing also. We are inviting friends over, but they bring their own food and we stay six feet apart around our little camp fire. I am thankful we can at least be together and laugh and stay in touch. I pray not a one of us will get the virus. Kathi

  8. You really had quite a treat, lunch with family and a wildlife show as well, Latane. We haven't yet done any socially distancing get togethers but are thinking of a video happy hour for later this week.

  10. I am so glad that i am finally cured of herpes virus 1& 2,i was diagnosed of the virus 4 years ago and ever since i started applying medical treatment and different medical therapies but it didn't work out well for me. Still i needed the virus out of my system,so i went to research on the internet how can herpes be cured using herbs, this was how i c am e across doctor razor herbal medicine and how effective it is,after viewing multiple testimonies regarding this herbal doctor and how they got cured using his herbal medication m, i copied out his details and contacted him and explained everything that was wrong with me to him and he promised to help me. i received a parcel from the UPS courier service sent by herbalist razor.and he instructed me to use the medicine for 18 days and after that in should go for a medical check up and alas the medical scientist (doctors) pronounce me negative, i went back after 2 months and it was still same result.
