Manna From Heaven

Pooh! It barely snowed but it's colder than a chicken's behind in an ice storm. Okay, maybe not that cold. You northern folks would call me out on that. But, it was below freezing and we southern gals aren't comfortable with those temps. It's not warmed up enough to keep the melting snow (what little there was of it here at my apartment) from freezing. Shirley lives 30 miles northwest of me and they got it all. Should have gone up to her house if I wanted some white stuff.

I had the strangest thing happen to me today. I opened my front door to put my garbage out for pickup and there were 13 bags of groceries sitting on my stoop. Lordy mercy, 'honey chile, I ain't ordered no groceries.'

pardon the washed out look... my lens fogged over the minute I opened that door!!

Did some phoning around, been waiting for hours for someone to claim them but so far.... no sign of any hungry people looking for grub. So, it looks like I may have won the grocery lottery!! Hey, it's Christmas all over again!

I'm a bit down today. Not sure why. Maybe it's the weather... and they say that there is cold, cold air around for days yet. I cancelled a dental cleaning for tomorrow. I am not going to get out in that mess!!

I did a watercolor a couple days ago. I usually don't do line and wash (where you draw the outline in ink then watercolor in the hues) but I liked it. I do like to sketch so maybe this will give me the best of two of my artsy worlds.

I sure hope you all are staying warm. The older I get, the colder I get so I have been bundled up pretty well during all this frigid air. It's nice to sit in my recliner with a warm blanket pulled up to my chin and watch tv. I saw 'Eleanor the Great' on Netflix. It was cute and I enjoyed it a lot.

    I love your watercolor!
I haven't heard of Eleanor. Now I need to look that up.

  2. The Grocery Fairy struck! I know what you mean about feeling bluesy with the weather as the culprit, I believe. I have lived t the hospital the last three days and it did a number on my psyche. I am ready for a hot meal and my own bed. That watercolor is so calming and beautiful.

  6. Did you solve the mystery of the groceries? Love a nice day on the couch with a blanket and a good show (or book). Either one with a cuppa too!

  7. We got about 9-10 inches of snow, but today it's blowing and drifting and a cold -15 degrees. Nice grocery delivery. We are seeing so many deliveries going to the wrong houses in our area, but I am too far in the country to get such a thing. I too, book my dental cleanings during months with better weather (avoiding winter snow/ice etc). Have a wonderful day! Baking always lifts my spirit. Sending you some spirit lifting mojo.

  9. I hope the groceries didn't get delivered to the wrong address:) I hope you find out who sent them. It was really nice of them to make sure you had plenty of food during your cold spell. If I had even 1/2 the talent of you as an artist, I would dance a jig!

  11. I liked the movie " Eleanor the Great" also. I first found out how "great" June Squibb is by seeing the movie "Nebraska"

  13. What a surprise to find those bags of groceries at your door. Interesting what was all in them. I use that coffee creamer to flavour my oatmeal.

  14. Love your watercolor!

I’ll bet the delivery person was following a GPS that had a glitch. I’ve had that happen.
