Yesterday we had our monthly Chat and Chew meeting in our lounge. Had the best time! That Chat and Chew was my idea. I just have a hard time conversing in a meaningful way when the room is full of people also conversing!! This group is small, we take down our own lunch and we usually spend 2-3 hours just catching up.
I have gotten to the age that when you interrupt my train of thought, that thought's done left the building! Can't remember what it was and yesterday I noticed others doing that, too. Guess we all belong to the same club.
and on to other subjects...........
Son Michael left Sunday morning driving back to Alabama where he lives. I miss him (and his little dog).
He got home safe and sound. What mother doesn't love hearing that their kid arrived at their destination safe and sound?
Tuesday morning Shirley told me that Michael was in the hospital. Little stinker didn't let me know... guess he didn't want his Mama to worry.
It was a severe case of acid reflux that had asperated enough so that some had seeped into one of his lungs. They kept him overnight, gave him a bunch of antibotics and he's fine now.
What was funny about that was.... they asked him when was the last hospital visit he'd had.
Sept 8, 1957, he said.
The day he was born.
That boy has not ever been a patient in a hospital!!
Lordy, I wish I could say that.
3 abdominal surgeries
a tonsilectomy
a breast lumpectomy
2 knee replacements
and I birthed 5 babies.
Can't say I've never been to a hospital.
My air conditioner/heating unit went kaput while Michael was here. Luckily, we were having cooler days and too, the office brought up a portable air-conditioner for us to use.
Yesterday I got a new unit installed. Took them all day but now I can stay cool if I want... or when winter gets here I can be toasty warm.
Take care.

Michael has a good record! Hope he is home soon!
ReplyDeleteMichael had never been in the hospital?! That's amazing! I'd say you've definitely had your share of stays in the hospital. I know what you mean about connecting around a small table, rather than a room full of people. Your "Chat and Chew" is a great idea. I attend a group called "Around the Table." Same idea, but there are 10 tables in the room!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes about the thoughts leaving the building! I laughed when I read that.
Prayers for You and Michael’s health.

Hello. my friend. Hope your son is home soon. He was born a few days before my sister!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrifying thing to happen to Michael! That precious little pup must have been so worried? We've had our A/C techs out 3 times this year, so I'm praying it will last a while longer. Fretting and checking the thermostat every morning is of no use, but then I'm so good at it.
ReplyDeleteSooo love your "chat and chew" reference! ... mind if I borrow that on our next gals' invite?
Be happy to have you use the chat and chew title for your next girls meeting.
DeleteYour food photos look so good always! What a nice complex you live in! Our HOA does a monthly get-together where everyone brings a food to share. It ends up being like a banquet! A nice birthday month for you and your son. Glad he is well. Mom's don't like to see their kids unwell! andrea
ReplyDeleteWhen you've had company for a while and they leave the house seems extra empty and quiet. Good to know you have A/C again 💗.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Michael's hospital stay was a short one. I am with him in nver having been hospitalized except for my birth. You have certainly had your share of stays, Latane. Great that your Ac unit was replaced so quickly.

ReplyDeleteI am reaching out to share a personal experience that changed my life and might be important for you or someone you care about. Five years ago I was diagnosed with HIV and began antiretroviral therapy. Living with the side effects, including vomiting and a white-coated tongue, was difficult, and I spent many days praying and seeking help from medical and spiritual communities.
A few months ago a friend at work, Hannah, who is also from West Africa, told me about Dr Jekawo and his herbal medicine. Because I trusted Hannah and was desperate for relief, I contacted Dr Jekawo at drjekawo@gmail.com and through his website www.drjekawo.com. He sent me a product labeled Dr Jekawo Herbal Medicine Cure For HIV/Aids and provided instructions for use.
After following his instructions, I went for testing two weeks later and the result was negative. This outcome has given me renewed hope and I wanted to share this with you because the herbal treatment reportedly addresses not only HIV/Aids but other viral conditions such as herpes, shingles, and hepatitis B and C, Cancer, Diabetes,Parkinson, Dementia, also help bring Ex Back, Dr Jekawo is a great herbal doctor with ancestral powers to cure all diseases.
If you or anyone you know is seeking alternatives or additional options, I wanted to pass along Dr Jekawo’s contact information so anyone can reach out directly and ask questions about any cure for any diseases, its use, and whether it might be appropriate. I understand this is a sensitive and complex topic.
If you would like more details about my experience, the timeline, or how I communicated with Dr Jekawo, let me know and I will share what I can.
