A Different Easter

My Easter was definately different this year!

No egg hunt, no family gathered around a table ladened with ham, deviled eggs, sweet potatoes.

The kids (that's great-grands for me) have grown past all that I guess.

Everyone was scattered doing their own thing.

So, my grandson who was available along with his two young 'men' joined Shirley, John and I at a local restaurant. Some had burgers, Shirley had a salad and I had a brisket plate.

So far-fetched from past Easters but we all were so happy to get to spend some time together.

Then we spent some time visiting at my apartment.

A good day for sure!

Great-grandsons

My orchid which does not know how to stop blooming!

Have a great week!
Hugs

  1. It happens - We didn’t have the family over. It was just me and the husband and our dog and cat. It was fine. I made a nice meal and that was that!

  7. So glad you have someone to spend the holiday with. I too spent it much different from years before. I spent the entire day alone. I got a "Happy Easter" text from one of the 6 kids, and my husband worked (yes, Easter Sunday). I decided not to wallow in pity and loneliness, and cleaned a full kitchen cupboard.

  8. We haven't had a family Easter here since the year Hubby died - 2021. It was always just me, putting in the work and loving the family time. I feel a little annoyed with it, but what can I do? One of the four texted me a short "happy Easter". I took a weekend job so I spend Easter at work nowadays. To me, your Easter looked and sounded lovely. I think a lot of us take holidays for granted until they change drastically.

  9. You look beautiful! And the changing of the holidays is hard for me. I think of the ones when I was young, and then when I was a young mother. Now, holidays are changing again, as my children are growing and changing. I always get a little teary eyed at the end of the night. But that is life, right? Hugs!

  10. That sounds like a fun, unique Easter! Ours was different this year too. Our family was all out of town so we actually got a new cabinet painting in our kitchen. Unconventional time to do it, but we are so happy with it. Has made for a fresh feeling in our home.

  11. As families grow up, traditions certainly change, but your Easter celebration did manage to include family just in a different setting, Latane.
