A lot of time I try to eat healthier.... (as I sit here typing away with a big chunk of fudge in my mouth)
I didn't say I was PERFECT!
And, my son-in-law makes yummy fudge that they sell at their Easter Good Friday Bake sale so yes, I had to have some of it.. I mean, I wouldn't want to hurt his feeling! Hehe
I saw a question post on one of our 'neighborhood facebook pages' the other day asking what was being built just up the street from me.
A couple people responded, First Watch.
Didn't have a clue what First Watch is! So, I do what everyone else does... I googled it.
First Watch is a breakfast/lunch restaurant that has a more healthier menu than we have ever had here in Suffolk. I mean, I just let out a 'whoop-dee-do' when I read that!
They are weeks, maybe months from opening but I am already making plans.... a trip to First Watch at least twice a week! I noticed that they have avocado toast listed. I make my own but avocadoes ripen so fast it's hard for me to keep them handy often enough so now I can just pop over to the new restaurant whenever I get a hankering for that. I couldn't be happier.
Here's my recipe if you are at all interested in making your own avocado toast. Or just grab your car keys and meet me at First Watch (after they are open).
Woo-hoo! We, too, are slated to get a First Watch in Prattville later this year. I'm so excited.
ReplyDeleteBreakfast is my favorite meal of the day, so I hope it lives up to its reputation.
That's exciting! And for now, enjoy the fudge!
ReplyDeleteNice to have a new restaurant!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite restaurants here in Florida. Brenda
ReplyDeleteI read that restaurant has had some interactions with the health department, hope they resolved the food safety issues.
ReplyDeleteWe have one here in Austin and I have never been - I should check them out.
ReplyDeleteSounds a perfect start to the day.
ReplyDeleteIt will be fun for you to watch the progress on First Watch. Avocado toast is a delicious way to start the day. I love it.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who has never tried avocado toast, I appreciated that you included you recipe, Latane. A new breakfast place will be something to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWe love breakfast places! And avocados! I bought two at the grocery store today. I get them when they're still hard, but one a little farther along than the other. We sometimes just mash them and eat them with tostitos.
ReplyDeleteI think avocados on toast is the best way to eat them! And fudge...I love to make it, but I'll eat it all!! andrea
ReplyDeleteI've never tried avocado toast but I will do so...as soon as I get a nice ripe avocado. ( I'll leave off the egg.)
ReplyDeleteGreat blog
ReplyDeletePlease read my post
ReplyDeleteDid you know you can freeze whole avocados? Yep, just get a ziploc, toss them in (wash first) then toss into the freezer and use what you need. Keeps up to 6-8 months! I do this when there's a sale...

I like avocado but if a choice, fudge for breakfast. I know I'm bad.
ReplyDeleteFudge is my favourite and you have reminded me I still have some from Christmas!
