Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle...
Ever heard that saying?
I wouldn't want to be anyone's uncle or aunt, for that matter, in Beaufort County, South Carolina right now.
Seems that 40 rhesus monkeys escaped from the research lab there and are roaming the countryside. Can you imagine driving down a road and a monkey jumps out of a tree right in front of your car!! You'd think you were in a tarzan movie or something.
But, a least only 40 got out... there are 4,000 monkeys on that island. All used for research. 40 of them pulled a cell break...
Yes, this is a true story. I fact checked it myself.
News of the weird, for sure! It would freak me out entirely to run across a monkey or two while driving.
ReplyDeleteWow, they have that many monkeys under research? Wow! I would not want to run into one for sure. That is a crazy story.
ReplyDeleteYay for the escapees!
ReplyDeleteI heard about that on the news! Someone must have left a door open somewhere. I'm glad they escaped, makes me sad to think they're being used for research. If they were being well cared for, I hope they're returned safely.
ReplyDeleteGreat, I wonder which one was the instigator, but I too wouldn't want to meet one out!
ReplyDeleteSorry they’re being experimented on. Hope they enjoy the jail break. Olivia
ReplyDeleteI also read this story on the news and that a door had been left open allowing their escape. What I haven't read is whether or not any have been successfully rescued.
ReplyDeleteI saw that (the monkies) on our local news channel. WoW, hope they enjoy their freedom, just so long as they don't hurt anyone . . . or anyone hurt them. Yes, I've heard of being a monkey's uncle, I say it all the time.☺
