Remember when Artemis 11 went around the moon and back to earth? I bet you didn't know that I was aboard that flight?
Well, not my physical body but my name was onboard and it made the journey of a lifetime.
My son-in-law is all into this space stuff and my dau finally told me the other day that I went around the moon. I wish I'd known it at the time of the flight!
Of course, I bet there are times she'd like to send me to the moon (as would, I to her) hehe.
I have the boarding pass to prove it, too. This has been a ton of fun.... I went to the moon!!
On a more earthly thought....
some of us residents met the other day in the common room to make hats for our Kentucky Derby party which will be Saturday.
I still have my hat from last year so I just watched the others at work. 
I don't think the party will be as much fun this year. Only about 1/2 the number signed up to attend but there is something about the weather that keeps people in their apartments. And, it's gonna be rainy and in the 60s. But, those of us who will be there will enjoy ourselves and eat all that good food. I hope I pick the winning horse!
How fun is this? I did cheer on the Artemis, if only I'd known you were on it. :)

wow-zers...how lucky are you. that boarding pass is a real keepsake, you should buy a frame for it and hang it on the wall. as for your "kentucky derby party" it would be a shame if it rains but i would go anyway...i'm sure you don't sit outside. go...and eat all the food and bring home some leftovers!! and have a wonderful time!!

That reminds me of Jackie Gleason saying to Alice, "I'm gonna send you to the moon" as he was winding up his arm. lol. My daughters have done a Kentucky Derby party for years with their friends. ReplyDeleteWhat?! How did you get that boarding pass?! My 16 year old granddaughter is very into space and would love something like that! Is it something you have to sign up for? I'm glad you got to go to space, and not have to deal with the g-forces on your body. Although I certainly wouldn't mind feeling weightless!

A friend of ours use to raise Paso Finos (sp?) , and invited us to ride often; they were so sweet horses and had a very gentle gait .I wouldn't chance riding a race horse, though!
Hope you continue to have an exciting life! I live in Virginia, too...have for all my 76 years. Lived with Mama and Daddy about 3 miles from here. My husband and I have been married and lived here 60 years come June 30!
