I used to often wonder when my time to sit in a rocking chair doing nothing would happen! Well, when it finally did I wasn't so sure it was what I wanted. I don't make much mess around here to clean up. I'm not fixing huge meals or doing laundry for upteen people. It's just me.
And, so I sit in my chair (it does rock but it is a recliner as well) and that's nice. I don't mind it so much but I do get bored as all get out!
I'm not into puzzles or Suduko or word search. But, I do enjoy crossword puzzles so I got online and ordered me a whole set of them. That ought to keep me occupied for a bit.
What do like to do in your space time?
Latane
Happy Puzzling! And Happy New Week.
ReplyDeleteI like to play online games, like Sudoku, coloring apps, Solataire...
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your puzzles!
I read! Mornings Dan and I play NY Times games together: Connections, Strands and Wordle. Two heads are better than one.
ReplyDeleteI used to be hooked on crossword puzzles ... but drifted to online games. Meanwhile, I read.
ReplyDeleteI quilt, garden, hunt, hike, bake, yoga, workout and do online puzzles.
ReplyDeleteI like to do a couple of puzzles before getting up in the morning. I always think of it as my brain exercises for the day.
ReplyDeleteTablet. Read books on it, watch YouTube videos.
ReplyDeleteLatane, this is a good question and I really had to sit and think about how I spent my time because being retired there is no set schedule. I enjoy reading listening to audiobooks and podcasts, walk on the treadmill or outdoors in nicer weather, sort through "stuff" to donate or sell online. I may also return to genealogy as the local library has a new ancestry program and there's a class this week.
ReplyDeleteI still work outside the home but retirement is only a year or so away! One thing I'm passionate about is photography and photographs. I have thousands of them, some tucked away in photo boxes, others in old peel-and-stick albums that are falling apart, and many in photo books and on the computer. Lately I've been taking the photos out of the old books and putting them into new slide-in photo albums. I can sit for hours, reminiscing and remembering our many adventures.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, most of my time is in the kitchen. However, we also have home repairs going on and a lot of purging and organizing going on. I do like word search, and suduko, but not so much crosswords. I should get a book and at least make a go of it. I crochet on evenings we watch movies, but it's limited. Our daylight is extending to 8pm, so once the weather clears, we'll spend nights outside more often. I do love to read, and have a TON of books to finish this year. I just completed one "writing" project too. I have been out fo the loop with writing resources, and just found out they stopped printing The Writer magazine (one of my favorite I used to read). Oh, we do puzzles over winter too.
ReplyDeleteI'm just entering the 8th decade. I find that I set more than I used to. Like the line in The Color Purple - sometimes I sets & think & sometimes I just set. I love a slow morning over coffee & blogs, sometimes a book. Then it's time to do what needs doing in the house. There's always a list of things left undone but like you not tons of laundry & cooking like when there was a houseful. I still enjoy morning tv. Then it's time for some floor exercises and/or a 1-2mi walk. I like cooking & baking. I enjoy the occasional afternoon nap. I like computer games, usually word games like scrabble, wordley. I spent 4 hrs in town today for a haircut, errands, visiting a friend in hospital. There's always something.
ReplyDeleteI love crossword puzzles - really any word puzzles. I have also rediscovered reading - something I had put aside while I was busy raising kids and working fulltime.
ReplyDeleteCrossword puzzles are fun to do. I always enjoy my scrabble game and jigsaw puzzles done on my iPad.
