Christmas Present. Christmas Past.

I decorate less and less as the years go on. That's ok. Leave it to the younger ones to expend all that energy to only have to take it down again in a couple/three weeks. 😁

But, on this Sunday morning I will share with you some of my this year decor.

But, in years past I went all out!! And, yes, I did have to take it all down after Christmas was over!

So..... time to sit back and just enjoy my time and not work so hard to make it all happen.

  2. Your decor is beautiful, then and now. I'm the same way, I used to put up a Christmas village with houses, lamp posts, and trees, then cover it all with layers of white felt, then cover that with plastic snow. It looks really nice, but boy is it a lot of work! I haven't put it up in quite a few years. The older I get, the more I just want to enjoy the time with family and friends.

  4. I too do less here in NH than when we lived in Maryland.

  5. I'm doing less every year too. I like that tree with all the tinsel.

  6. I always want a tree but that will be enough for me this year.

  7. The older I get, the simpler I like it. I can remember feeling very tired and stressed over decorating for Christmas way back when - not exactly the feelings you want at this time of year. Live and learn.

  8. Hi Latane, It looks like you did just the right amount of Christmas decorating this year. I used to decorate the house a lot more than I do now too and for the same reason of having to take it all down and having to pack it away again after it being up for only a few weeks:)

  9. Hello, my dear friend. I loved it then, and I love it now. Each year is a reflection of the chapter of life we are in, I think. I am loving our simpler, more intentional Christmas decor now. Have a cozy evening!

  10. I don't work hard to decorate. I put stuff up right after Halloween, keep it simple and it's just nice to enjoy. That said, this year I wanna make a winter reading wonderland in the bedroom. Love winter! Happy Christmas.

  11. You are right, Latane, that taking down holiday decor can be a chore. We have out up a tree and other decorations inside and outside our apartment. We started later this year because we were away for Thanksgiving, which was later so we will keep the decos up until mid-January.

  12. I enjoy having holiday decorations around me, but I don't do the same amount each year. Sometimes it's more, sometimes it's less, but as long as it's merry and bright I love it. This year it's rather minimal but I have an excuse -- we'll be visiting our daughter so I'll get to help her deck the halls. Have a very merry Christmas!

  13. Your decorations are very festive and pretty. I didn’t put out as much as I usually do but enjoyed them even the mismatched things. I had a hard time finding a lot of them this year for some reason.
