God Gave Us The Moon

Preparing for bed last night, I went to the window to close my drapes. While there, I peeked out and saw the most beautiful moon, soft clouds floating over it.

I walked out onto the balcony and stood there shivering,  just blown away by how much beauty I was seeing. The calmness, the pond still, not even a frog croaking, the wind finally quieted down and I just turned my face skyward and said,

"Thank you, God, for all the beauty you have put in this world.

I felt so blessed to be a tiny witness to His greatness.

I know that my camera does not make good moon pictures. But, I tried anyway.

  1. That’s a BEAUTIFUL shot of the moon! Ours looked similar when I went to bed last night and I stared for a while, too. So pretty. Such a pretty name, too — snow moon.

  2. It's so good to see your moon as it has been so cloudy here it has been days since I've seen it! Beautiful!

  3. When I looked out the window last night, I noticed the shadows of the trees in the moonlight - it was that bright! I should have got my camera for a photo of the moon, but I didn't. Glad you did!
    Have a wonderful week!

  4. Hello again!
I just went outside to look at the moon, and wanted to tell you to zoom in closer to the moon to get the best photo. The moon is so bright that close up it will give enough light to get a higher shutter speed and therefore a clearer picture. Also I braced my camera against my porch rail to help steady it.
Since we have the same camera, Canon PowerShot SX520 HS, what worked for me should work for you too. (Hope there is not too much cloud cover tonight)

  8. Reminds me of a trip I took to NYC and standing on the World Trade Center Observation deck at night seeing so many stars. So magnificent and overwhelming.
