Good Clean Movie Watching

Well, I sorta got myself a new project!

We had our activity planning meeting on Wednesday to decide what we wanted to do during the month of February. Sometimes the office plans things, other times the residents do.

The woman in charge of showing a movie twice a month wanted to step down. Said the biggest problem was choosing what movie would be appropriate for these old ladies. You know they don't like cussing, sex, gals (or guys) running around half naked. Well, maybe the guys could. haha. And, the F word is definately out.

Boy, it's hard to find movies without that kind of thing these days. But, I said I would take over that chore.

Guess, what I've been doing the last few days!!! Yep

                          WATCHING MOVIES!!

watching for cuss words etc, etc, etc. I do pause when there's a handsome man without his shirt on... just kidding.

But, you know, I am enjoying these movies. And, I never would have watched them otherwise. So, there's good out of everything.

If any of you need a movie recommendation that is clean cut... just ask. Looks like I am turning into a pro.

  3. Good for you! Yes, it's very hard to find good ones. I don't know why they have to throw the F word in everything... If I think of any, I'll let you know. Like anonymous above said - Second Hand Lions is a good one.

  4. The old The Great Gatsby is probably suitable. Our women's group just watched it last month. Good luck. Diana

  5. One of my co-workers helps lead Encore, a ministry for folks 60+ and she puts on a Movie Night once a month. She'll sometimes be out of ideas and will ask around the office if anyone has a movie that fits all the criteria you listed above. In fact, they're having one tonight! And, with the movie they're having a Hot Cocoa Bar with marshmallows, crushed peppermint, whipped cream... all the fixings. Sounds like a fun chore! Have a great time doing your research! :)

  6. I find it best to watch old movies. They're interesting and hardly any swearing.
Enchanted April was one I enjoyed. Have a lovely weekend.

  7. Sounds like a fun project! Please share the ones you pick. I pretty much only watch movies from the 70's and 80's although there aren't that many that fit the criteria! I just relate to the old ones much more than the current stuff! Have a fun weekend!

  8. My all time favorites are the "Big Momma" movies and the Wayans brothers masterpiece, "White Chicks" both are appropriate for all audiences.

  9. The F word is everywhere these days. Unnecessarily, I think. What a fun task to watch movies. Older ones are probably best. We just rewatched Romancing the Stone, but I can't remember if there is language in that one.

  10. Finding a 'clean' movie these days is almost impossible. Older movies are your best way to go - good to hear you're enjoying your search. :))

  11. I think Nicholas Sparks movies are great! My favorites are The Choice and The Best of Me. If there is an F word I sure dont remember it. Could be a little cuddlyness but great stories!

  14. Latane, what a fun task and there are a lot of great movies with no cursing or everyone killing or blowing things up. As others have mentioned, the classics with Cary Grant, James Stewart and the like are great. Also some of the newer comedies with Steve Martin and, of course, Hallmark films shich are available on Netflix in recent months.

  15. Looks and sounds like a fun project! My vote for movie snack will forever and always be popcorn, but there are fun things you can do with that, too!

  16. Anything before 1964 should be good as well as bringing forth memories for most of the members. I personally loved The Quiet Man (Maureen O'Hara and John Wayne).
    Good luck!
