Another birthday celebration!!
Yep, same guy. same birthday but 3 days later than the actual day.
Michael and I drove over to the Eastern Shore... now, if any of you don't know what the 'Eastern Shore' is, it's this: The Chesapeake Bay splits off a slice of Virginia and the long peninsula that is on the east side is known as the Eastern Shore. It's Virginia but separated by a big body of water.
Any way...Michael's big sister had promised him a seafood lunch as her part of his birthday. She and her hubby are house/dog/grandchild sitting at their daughters house and couldn't join us on his big day (the lunch at the Mexican restaurant).
They took us to the Island House. What a view.
We had a great time. And, Michael got his seafood!
On another note: I don't know about all of you but I have a difficult time pronouncing worchestershire sauce. To be funny, Michael started calling it 'wash your sister sauce'. Well, I knew what he meant.... and I thought it was cute. But, then Moms always think their sons are soooo darn cute, I don't care what age they are.

A wonderful celebration and a lovely photo of you all. Looks like a great restaurant for a special meal. Happy Birthday Michael! Thank you for a lovely post Latane and have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI can't say it either and I like his pronunciation! Glad you could all have fun together!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family AND sandwich. My mom always said "wooster". But wash your sister is even better. (:
ReplyDeleteYeah, I can't pronounce it either. I like 'wash your sister'! I can say that! :)
ReplyDeleteYour 'Eastern Shore' reminds me a little of our "Peninsula' here in WA State. Still Washington but we're separated by a body of water called Puget Sound. I looked up Virginia Eastern Shore on a map and your water is bigger, and the land is smaller, but it's still kind of the same. :)
Glad Michael got his seafood! Your sandwich looks delicious!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Delightful! To read your posts, I grin ear to eat. Thank you so much! Dee ear to eat geesh lol.
ReplyDeletei am a shrimp lover but that crab cake sandwich looks pretty darn good!! lobster is my favorite, of course, it is the most expensive!! i think "wash your sister" sauce" is awesome!!
ReplyDeleteYes, Latane, I know the Eastern Shore (VA) very well as we lived there for nearly 12 years and had some of the best seafood too! We have also dined at the Island House many times and the crab was delicious back then as well. Happy 🎂 to Michael and the family get together looks to have been a delicious and like fun time.
