Coconut Oil and Monkeys

I keep learning something new every day!! I hope you do, too.

You see, I bought this jar of coconut oil from the grocery store. I had a recipe that called for it but then I never made the recipe so there that jar sat. I had no idea what to do with it.

Chatgpt to the rescue!!

Did you know that you can use coconut oil the same as butter or olive oil to fry eggs, saute veggies or even grease a pan?

If you have dry feet or elbows... rub a bit of coconut oil on them! or dab a bit on your lips if they are dry.

You can use it as a cuticle softener! Who knew, right?

If you have wood furniture... just mix the oil with a bit of lemon juice. You'll have a beautiful shine on that wood.

And, it even helps to unstick zippers.

So, I got my jar out of the pantry and put it to work!! Don't intend to waste my money on something I am not using!! After all, I am a depression baby... gotta save every way you can!

And, I'm throwing in this for a chuckle.

  1. I use coconut oil on my hair, rub in and leave for an hour or two and then wash, strengthens the hair and a good shine!

  3. The jar of coconut oil in my vanity is one of my MVP's ... but I nearly didn't get there. On the recommendation of a co-worker I checked out bottles of coconut oil in Target's beauty and personal care section, but seeing their $-tags, immediately put them aside. Later when I told my colleague she laughed, "You're looking in the wrong department! It's in the cooking oil section."
    You've cited some examples I didn't know.

  4. What a fun header, Latane, thanks for the smile. Although, I have never bought coconut oil, so none in the pantry, I did enjoy reading about the various uses.
